A postpartum doula provides practical support during the postpartum period.

A Postpartum Doula…

  • Mothers the mother so she can mother her infant.
  • Changes her role day to day, as the needs of the family change.
  • Educates the parents regarding baby care, and empowers siblings and other family members to care for baby and mother.
  • Makes sure the mother is fed, well hydrated and comfortable.
  • Assists with breastfeeding and baby wearing.
  • Supports a family for a minimum of 6 hours but can serve a family for a couple of months.
  • Can work full time, with 9 to 5 shifts or work 2-3 hours at a time. Times are flexible and based on family needs.
  • May also serve before a birth when a mother has been placed on bed rest for various medical concerns.

Purchase Postpartum Doula Services

To purchase postpartum doula services, fill out our Postpartum Doula Agreement Form. To secure your spot on our calendar we need this form to be completed in addition to receiving full payment of $150 for 6 hours of postpartum care. Before purchasing postpartum doula services, please inquire about availability of your desired doula.

Postpartum Check-In Services

Colleen Goidel, CPD (CAPPA), will come to your home for a one-hour visit to do a general assessment of immediate postpartum needs—including troubleshooting breastfeeding, newborn soothing techniques, mother self-care, and support for safe baby wearing and safe co-sleeping. An optional follow-up conversation is included, if needed. Cost for this service is $100.
