A lifelong process of personal and professional growth began when I first read Pam England’s Birthing From Within, and found a philosophy which resonates for birth as well as for life.
‘Doing The Next Best Thing” without attachment to outcome is an ongoing quest and one we learn brilliantly in the year of pregnancy, birth and early parenting.
Through my own birth experiences, and while supporting nearly 300 women and their partners into parenthood, I’ve come to understand this work with an ever deepening respect for the many paths the journey can take, and the wisdom and passion for helping others cross each threshold along the way.
Birth is the UNKNOWN, and while there are no maps, there are guides. Having been lovingly guided myself, I am honored and equipped to guide others. I am privileged to be a witness, guide and mentor through a year of great change in a woman’s life.
Trained and experienced in optimal fetal positioning techniques I also lead workshops teaching parents how to help their babies find an easy passage. The class; Move the Mother to Move the Baby, is a physiological approach to help achieve an easier birth.
As a grandmother I am learning firsthand how imperative it is for new grands to know what has changed since we gave birth, and how to create a family bond based on mutual respect. I developed a class just for grandparents to help them ease into their new role with knowledge and understanding and to help everyone understand the evolving relationships that develop as a new family is born.
I occasionally offer my services as a labor doula although mostly focusing on parent and grandparent education at this time.
My role is to mentor and support families. I look forward to serving yours.
My fee is $1100.
